A Black American Woman Does A Homestay in Guatemala

August 08, 2018

I was scared to DEATH of doing a homestay. Wish I had done this years ago. I do have my own room and bathroom so it’s not THAT bad. I also get cooked three meals a day minus Sundays. I’m only three days in but it has been SO rewarding so far. I’m also learning so much in class with my teacher. Like legit a full ass conversation. Tomorrow we’re going to go out and practice so I can hear different voices. I’m ready!

🤐 BaseLang - The website I’ve been using to learn Spanish with unlimited lessons for $149 per month.

Without a plan, Elyse Y. Robinson moved to México City after her mother passed away from blood cancer on November 11, 2016. She never heard of México City nor even visited México before. She just knew she had to escape America to mourn. She had quit her whole life to help her family anyway. She had nothing more to lose. She is going into her fourth year in México and she is there to stay!
